Welcome to Mountain View Stud

Mountain View Stud, encompassing over 1000 acres, is situated in idyllic surroundings at the foot of Mount Warrenheip, 10km east of Ballarat and 100km west of Melbourne.

With its rich volcanic soil and quality pasture, comprising clover, rye and fescue grass and high rainfall, it is second-to-none for the breeding, raising and agisting of standardbred horses.

Mountain View is a unique harness racing facility offering clients the complete package, from breeding, foaling down and weaning to breaking-in, educating and training.

Though the stud has a fine roster of stallions in service, it is widely recognised as one of the State’s busiest semen transportation bases with access to the leading stallions throughout Australia and New Zealand.

The farm is well appointed with excellent facilities and fencing, carefully nurtured pasture, separate farms for wet and dry mares, and round-the-clock supervision by experienced staff.

Mountain View Stud sits on prime standardbred breeding land in the heart of Victoria’s Central Highlands district.
